With the growing success of the 7-9am BW Saturday morning ride we have decided to devote our time to this ride. As of the 9th June BW will now open at 9am – 4pm on Saturday, this well enable Oli and Andy to join the ride most weeks, with one leading the faster group and the other leading the steady group. (previous hours were 7am-4pm)
What is the BW Saturday Ride?
-The ride is a two hour training ride which covers 5-6 laps of a 11.8km circuit with a climb of Bridge Valley road each lap https://www.strava.com/routes/11900122
-There are two groups, a steady group avg speed 15-16MPH and a faster group 18-19MPH, The ride is a not a flat out session, we look to stay as a group, help weaker riders stay involved and stop to re group at the top of Bridge Valley road. By having two groups on the same circuit it is easy for riders to move up or back to suit their ability.
-The ride leaves at 7am and finished by 9am. There is no charge for the ride and everyone is welcome.
-Each lap includes the climb of Bridge Valley and some group riding work on the Portway bus lane back into the City. Working smoothly in a group is an essential skill for road racers, sportive riders and drafting Triathletes
-The ride happerns winter and summer, we only cancel the ride due to dangerous conditions of ice or high winds. This will be communicated on out facebook and twitter pages, so please follow us for all ride information
